And here's the thing: it’s not the fanciest gadget out there, but it absolutely nails the fundamentals. You get consistent feeding, a decent app, and smart touches like a battery backup. The downsides? It only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it prefers smaller kibble, and the app feels a bit basic compared to pricier models. But if you want something that strikes a great balance between reliability and price, this is a fantastic choice.

What we actually liked using it

The number one thing is reliability. It just works. The 6L hopper holds a ton of food for one cat—or even two if you're good about refilling—and it dishes out portions steadily. We found the camera is plenty clear to confirm your pet is eating, even in dim light, and being able to use the two-way audio to call them over is a nice touch. In the app, setting multiple daily meals is a breeze, and the push alerts for feedings and low food levels are genuinely helpful, not annoying. It's the little things, too. The lid seals tight, the bowl pops out for easy washing, and the optional battery backup means a power flicker won't mess up dinner time. It just covers the bases that really matter.

Okay, a few things to keep in mind before you pull the trigger. First, it *only* connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so double-check your home network. It also doesn't connect to smart-home platforms. And that camera? It's HD, which is great for check-ins, but don't expect to be filming a pet documentary with it. Like most feeders, it's also happiest with smaller, uniform kibble; oversized or odd shapes can increase the risk of a jam. So, my take? If you're a data-nerd who needs detailed analytics, or if you have two pets needing a splitter, or a dog who eats giant kibble, you might be better off with a higher-end model.
