Using it day-to-day, it’s the little conveniences that get you. You just tap your finger, the door unlocks in less than a second, and the app keeps a quiet log of who came and went. The video is clear enough to actually see who's there, and the motion alerts are genuinely useful, not just constant pings. Now, it's not perfect. Believe it or not, the battery life can take a hit if you have all the video features turned up to max. The lock itself is also a bit chunky, so it might look big on a really slim door. And its smart home connections aren't as wide as some others. But for most people, it just hits that sweet spot of privacy, performance, and price.

The Eufy app doesn't overcomplicate things, either. It has clear timelines of who came and went, easy ways to give guests temporary access, and good control over your alerts.

Let's talk privacy for a second. Eufy’s whole thing is 'local-first,' which means your video clips can stay right on the lock itself, encrypted. They did get some heat for their cloud stuff back in 2022, but they've since issued fixes and have been more transparent.
