If you want a pet camera that can *actually* follow your cat under the couch or check on your dog down the hall, the Enabot EBO Air 2 is one of the only choices that really works. Its ability to move unlocks angles that fixed cameras just can't get. It's pretty friendly, surprisingly quiet, and you can steer it right from your phone. But let's be real, rolling robots always have their quirks. Door thresholds and thick rugs can be a challenge, and the battery drains faster when it's patrolling. If you live in a multi-level home, you'll have to carry it upstairs yourself. It really shines in apartments and single-level homes with mostly hard floors. If that sounds like your place, you'll love it. If not, a good stationary pan-tilt camera might be a simpler, and cheaper, way to go.

What we really liked

The biggest feature, hands down, is its ability to move around. The EBO Air 2 can patrol your home, pivot on a dime, and peek into all the spots your pets actually love to hide. And the two-way audio feels surprisingly natural, not robotic. We found the night vision was plenty reliable for checking in when you're working late or away for the weekend. The app is also super easy to use—the joystick control is quick, you just tap to send it back to its dock, and the alerts make sense. Because it's so low to the ground, it easily slips under cabinets and sofas to find all those lost toys. They also handled privacy well; you can mute the mic anytime, and putting it on the dock physically parks the camera.

Now, the downsides are pretty much what you'd expect from any robot camera. Things like doorway thresholds, shag rugs, and stray charging cables can definitely stop it in its tracks. It does have sensors to keep it from tumbling down stairs, but if you have more than one floor, you're still going to be carrying it. Battery life can also be a mixed bag. If you have it patrolling constantly, it'll drain much faster, so you'll want to get used to keeping it docked. And here's a tech tip: like a lot of smart cameras, it prefers a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, so just double-check that before you commit. The alerts are great, but don't turn the sensitivity all the way up, or you'll get a notification for every little whisker twitch. Honestly, if you just want a simple camera for the living room, a regular stationary one might be a better fit.
