What We Really Think After Sleeping on It

Great feel, good price... and a couple of things you should know.

Okay, so after sleeping on this thing for over two months, we can say it really does land in that sweet spot. It feels luxurious, but it’s actually practical for everyday life. It's the real deal—100% mulberry silk at 22-momme, and it's OEKO-TEX certified. What that actually means is it feels incredibly smooth on your hair and skin. And here's the best part: it doesn't have that crazy-high price tag you see with some other brands. The fabric feels buttery, not plasticky or cheap, and all the stitching held up perfectly. We definitely noticed the classic silk benefits, like less frizz and fewer of those morning sleep-crease marks. But let's be real, it's a pillowcase, not a magic wand—it helps, but it won't cure all your hair woes. And washing it? Believe it or not, it's easier than you'd think. We just tossed it in a mesh bag on a cold, delicate cycle and let it air-dry. It looked good as new. Now, for the trade-offs. If you tend to sleep super hot, this might not be for you. Same goes if you're set on a really heavy, dense 25- or 30-momme silk. But honestly, for most people, this pillowcase just delivers on comfort and value.

What We Really Think After Sleeping on It

So, is this the one for you?

You should definitely consider this one if you're looking for a solid 22-momme silk pillowcase that’s proven to be soft, tough, and way easier to wash than you might imagine. It's a game-changer if you're trying to reduce friction on your hair—especially if you have curls, coils, or want to protect a blowout. It's also great if you just don't like the feel of cotton tugging on your face at night. Plus, they have a bunch of color options without that boutique markup. But you should probably skip it if you're a really hot sleeper. Crisp cotton or linen will feel cooler, no question. Same goes if you're specifically hunting for that super-heavy, drapey feel of a 25- or 30-momme silk.

Just a couple more things to keep in mind. Silk is breathable, sure, but it's not a moisture-wicking powerhouse like cotton, so you might feel a bit warmer on humid nights. Also, a heads-up on darker colors: wash it before you use it and try not to sleep on it with soaking wet hair, or some of the dye might transfer. Brooklinen usually sells these one at a time, so you'll have to budget for two if you want a pair. As for other options, Quince is great if you want to spend a little less, and Slip or Blissy have more colors but usually cost more. But if a friend asked me where to start for their first silk pillowcase, I'd point them right here. For the money, the whole experience is just tough to beat.
